You know that feeling when you get your hair done + you not-so-secretly want everyone to notice because it looks so darn good? That. Except it’s not my hair, it’s my blog. My brand new blog! And I’m ALL CAPS EXCITED about it.
But why celebrate me + my new thing, when I’d rather celebrate YOU?
Enter (drumroll, please) my very first giveaway! Instead of poppin’ champs, I’m packing surprise boxes instead. What’s inside? I’m not spilling any secrets, but it may or may not include (hint, hint): a bundle of my favorite stationery, a fancy notebook for jotting down brilliant ideas, a confetti push-pop, a sweet Seattle treat + other fun goodies.
So how do you get your hands on one? Simple. Get in the comments + tell me what you enjoy most about being a do-gooder. Make sure to get your entry in by this Friday, April 18 at midnight PST. And I’ll announce the lucky winners on Monday.
Good luck + happy commenting!
High fives + hugs to the super talented Kory Woodard, who designed my fabulous new space on the interwebs. Add her to your favorites list. You’ll thank me later.
UPDATE: Thank you, everyone, for your heartfelt comments. You inspire me. It was too hard to choose so I enlisted the help of a random number generator instead (my little ones pulling names out of an Easter basket). Congrats, Nicole, Jenn + Sarah! Say hi and send over your address, okay?

I believe it is truly more blessed to give than to receive, like the Bible says. Pick me pleaseeeeee! lol
This made me belly laugh, Doris. And I totally believe that too. thanks for commenting!
I enjoy the look of gratefulness of someone that just received help they needed. Priceless!
Yes, that face! The look of surprise + gratefulness. Love it!
Thanks for the giveaway! Can’t wait to see who wins! I enjoy giving or helping anonymously. The world would be a much better place if we would do something to help one another in our sphere of influence.
Have a great day!
Right? I can imagine how awesome the world would be if more people reached out + helped others. Thanks for commenting, Linda!
Shanon… LOVE the site! Love the mailbox with the star, love the bio, the new “brand”…
But mostly, thanks for giving good inspiration.
What I enjoy most about being a do-gooder… I just love the look on the faces of people when you do something unexpected (it can be as easy as holding a door open or buying a coffee for the person behind you) and when I can do something beyond the expectations of my donors. That feeling? That is what I enjoy most.
Thanks for the site love, Beth Ann. So glad you visited. If only we could bottle up that feeling + drink it up whenever we need an extra boost, right?
you had me at “confetti push-pop.” what i enjoy most about being a do-gooder is knowing that i’m making a difference, even a tiny one. (or if i mess it up, at least i learn something for next time.)
I love me a confetti pop. And also that you stopped by, Elizabeth! Making a difference rocks.
My favorite thing about being a do-gooder is the joy in my heart every day coming to work to help so many women and girls in need around the world. Hearing the gratefulness in the voices of the women that are able to go back to school to live the dreams they have had for so long but could never afford to pursue. Getting to say “Thank You!!” every day — and truly, honestly, meaning it! — to all of the donors that help us make the world a better place for women and girls!
“Getting to say ‘Thank You!’ every day. Sarah, you’re a girl after my own heart. Love that you love gratitude as much as I do.
Is this the most gorgeous website or what?!
Doing good in the fundraising world is about feeling good. First and foremost, you’re helping others write their best story about the missions and causes they care about deeply. You’re a connector and in that powerful position, you get to experience that do good-feel good energy many times over.
You’re too kind. Thanks for the site high-five, Jessica! Yes, doing good is for reals a renewable + powerful resource. Love!
I love being able to make dreams come true for donors by matching them up with their passion. Finding the perfect project for a donor is so fulfilling and makes fundraising effortless!
Totally! Perhaps our sector should start a match.ORG. And you’re totally right, fundraising is so much more fun when we make it easier for ourselves. Thanks for the comment!
I adore the new blog. It is beautiful!! And great content to match, wow.
My favourite part of being a do gooder is the giddy feeling I get when I have done something I know will surprise or delight someone else. There is nothing like it – and it is contageous.
Viral in an ALL CAPS AWESOME kind of way. And speaking of delightful, everyone should visit your blog, Rory. One of my faves! http://www.fundraisergrrl.tumblr.com
Congrats on the gorgeous new blog! What I love about good deeds is that they are pure accomplishment.
Aw, thanks for the kind words. I agree, good deeds have a great impact!
I love being a dogooder because i work in a field with people that get pushed to the side a lot. its amazing to help the people no one else wants to help.
People deserve better. Thank goodness for your every day acts of kindness, Nicole. You’re a shining star!
This is such a wonderful idea! For me, doing things for other people makes me feel good about myself and my community. And in truth, the more good i do, the more good comes back my way. It’s much more enjoyable to be a force for good and lift people up around you than it is to be a downer, I think, though i certainly have my down days.
Hey, Jenn! The goodness boomerang, totally a thing. And yes, I certainly have my days too. Because, let’s get real, doing good feels good but it’s also hard work!
I love doing kind things as i truly believe the universe receives those messages And provides good in Return
Indeed. Absolutely agree! Thanks for the comment, Portia.
